Raclette

sign   That's their sign showing a snow covered chalet along the road in Sandy Ground. No, it has never snowed there and we hope it doesn't but if you want a unique experience (at least on St Martin), stop in for fondue. It's the perfect food for a group - never a dull moment as the fondue bubbles and the wine flows. Both cheese and meat fondue are available.   fondue
Raclette   Raclette may not be as well known as fondue, but it is every bit as much fun and just as tasty. A special cheese (raclette) is heated until it is bubbling. The melted cheese is scraped onto boiled potatoes and accompanied by various tasty bits of meat. Another alternative is Pierrade. Pierre means rock in French (and in the Swiss version of French). In this process you cook your own meat tableside on a hot rock. Le Chalet offers combinations of beef, chicken, and duck. Try the Le Chalet's signature dish, the Tartare du Chalet, a combination of beef tartare, bacon, and melted reblochon cheese.   Pierrade
Strawberry   There are many wines and beers (some available only here) to accompany your dinner. After dinner, enjoy a Swiss coffee in the grolle to the left and a dessert. For the dessert treat of a lifetime, Le Chalet imports artisinal ice cream from Haut Savoie. The restaurant is open for dinner every night except Monday.   Grolle
